All excursions are on Saturday afternoon, October 24. Prices include transportation.
Advance sign-up is requested, as each excursion requires a minimum number of participants. Reservations will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. Walk-ons will be accommodated if there is room available.
INNOVATION IN ACTION – Disney Institute
1:00 – 4:00 pm, $99
From the first “talking” cartoon in 1928 to his bold vision of an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, Walt Disney always pushed the limits of technology. His innovative ideas inspired the creation of the Walt Disney World® Resort. During this 3-hour behind-the-scenes adventure, you will hear stories about the early days of Walt’s career and visit a variety of locations for an up-close look at innovation.
- The Walt Disney World® Nursery and Tree Farm: See how Disney horticulturists create world-famous topiaries.
- Textile Services: Visit the state-of-the-art laundry facilities, one of the largest in the world.
- Magic Kingdom® Park: Discover the incredible attention to detail that allowed Walt to have his Guests enjoy a three-dimensional experience that could not be duplicated on the movie screen.
- The Utilidor System: Journey beneath the Magic Kingdom® Park to visit support systems located in the “tunnel,” a utility corridor that supports the park operations overhead.

CELEBRATION TOUR
2:00 – 4:00 pm, $25
Celebration, FL is one of the earliest New Urbanist projects built in the United States, a pioneering example of a walkable, pedestrian-oriented American town. Designed and built and by the Disney Corporation, Celebration has captured the attention of a variety of authors, delving into the intersection between consumerism and active citizenship. Dr. Bruce Stephenson, Rollins Professor of Environmental Studies and author of Visions of Eden: Environmentalism, Urban Planning, and City Building in St. Petersburg, Florida, 1900-1995, will lead the tour.

THE ARTS IN WINTER PARK
12:30 – 5:00, no charge
Leave the Coronado Springs Resort at 12:30 to enjoy a picnic on the lakefront patio of the Cornell Fine Arts Museum of Rollins College. After lunch, view CFAM’s special exhibits of prints by William Blake and photographs by André Kertész. Move on to Park Avenue to see the extraordinary collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany, housed in the Morse Museum of American Art. End the afternoon with refreshments at the Heritage Center in West Winter Park. The Center, operated by Crealdé School of Art, features documents and oral histories celebrating one of Florida’s earliest African-American communities. Return to Disney at 5:00.
